Abstract

This paper presents the works done by several research groups from University of Extremadura and CETA-CIEMAT (Centro Extremeño de Tecnologías Avanzadas) in order to deploy an infrastructure of distributed computing over the computing resources of Secondary School at Extremadura (Spain). To achieve the highest levels of performance, some tests have been developed. From small proofs of concepts with a few dozens of computers to large deployments devoted to big and real projects. Other works executed by the groups in relation with volunteer computing, such as: porting applications, creation of frameworks, damage hardware ratio or virtualization, are presented. Besides the achievements, the problems appeared in the integration process are described.
